ABOUT

Crispy bases, big flavours, weekly specials and collaborations with some of the best, that’s what Dough Hands is all about. These days you can find us slinging pizzas seven days a week at the Spurstowe Arms in Hackney, and Wednesday to Sunday at All My Friends in Hackney Wick, alongside the occasional pop-up, and whatever else sounds fun.
I’d wanted to start my own pizza business ever since my first pizza chef job back in 2011 whilst at uni. In September 2020 I finally took the plunge and sold the first ever Dough Hands pizza from a market stall on Station Road in Brixton.
For the next couple of years I said yes to everything, food markets in every corner of London, weddings, birthdays, brewery pop-ups, festivals and kitchen takeovers. Most weekends meant squeezing ovens, gas canisters, dough trays, gazebos and cool boxes into my tiny VW Polo and driving pizzas across the city in all kinds of slightly apocalyptic weather conditions.
In January 2023 I quit my day job and took Dough Hands full time. Since then it’s grown into a brilliant team of good people making pizzas we’re genuinely excited about. The best bit of it all has been the collaborations, the specials, the late nights and getting to build something fun with mates and talented chefs we really admire.
